The Demonstration Test vehicle, commercial component manuals, and the Demonstration Test vehicle support will be at no cost to the Government. The Demonstration Test (in conjunction with the written proposal and evaluation) is a means of mitigating the risk to the Government in order to select the ATLAS II that has the highest probability of meeting all requirements as well as distinguishing differences between offerors providing vehicles that range in performance due to achieving required and desired objectives outlined in the ORD. This program is based on the belief that industry has existing commercial vehicles, or vehicles capable of being modified, that can meet the requirements of this program. The Government reserves the right to purchase the successful offeror's Demonstration Test vehicle to perform additional testing after the award of the production contract and prior to delivery of the production configuration vehicles. The production contract will require the contractor to deliver up to six vehicles in production configuration about seven months after the production contract award for the Production Verification Testing. The current program estimate includes $135M for approximately 1,000 vehicles. The production contract will be a five-year, firm fixed price requirements type contract. The truck shall be rated at 6,000 pounds at 24-inch load center with the 6,000-pound capacity carriage mounted and shall be rated at 10,000 pounds at 48-inch load center with the 10,000-pound capacity carriage mounted. The truck shall not be equipped with stabilizers or outriggers. The forklift truck (hereinafter called "truck" or "forklift") shall be a four-wheel drive, diesel-engine-driven, variable reach boom type truck (see ASME B56.6). The All-Terrain Lifter, Army System (ATLAS II) is to receive and issue supplies, move stock to and from storage load and unload ammunition, supplies, and equipment on unit vehicles for deployment stuffing and unstuffing pallets from containers transloading landing craft cargo between vehicles and aircraft moving items into stock and off-loading breakbulk cargo from vehicles and aircraft. The intent is to improve the vehicles capabilities as much as possible while maintaining the current program's vehicle cost. The target price for the production contract is not to exceed $135,000 per vehicle (in FY03 dollars). The new ATLAS II is a rough terrain forklift with a load capacity of 10,000 lb with a 48" load center with the primary mission to lift and load/unload pallets from ISO 20' containers. The ATLAS is currently on contract from TRAK. The ATLAS replaces all NSNs currently listed under SSN M488 and will displace existing 10K rough terrain forklifts in newly fielded units that currently have the older machines. It is intended to perform the same type of cargo handling operations as the present 10K capacity forklifts under SSN M488. The lift capacity of this machine is 4,000 lbs. capacity variable reach rough terrain forklift. and cross country mobility equal to the 6,000 lb. capacity, variable reach, rough terrain forklift. The All Terrain Lifter, Army System (ATLAS) is a 10,000 lb.

BitLocker can also use other encryption algorithms, such as AES 256-bit encryption.īitLocker encrypts the entire drive, including the system files, user data, and free space. By default, BitLocker uses the AES encryption algorithm with a 128-bit key. It is designed to protect data by providing encryption for entire volumes. What is BitLocker Encryption?īitLocker is a full disk encryption feature included with Windows Vista and later. Why this happened and how could you read a BitLocker drive on Mac Ventura? This is the issue we are going to solve in the article. I know Ventura has a lot of improvements over Monterey, but never it expected such a problem as it is quite common to encrypt a portable drive to protect the data. However, When I plugged in a BitLocker encrypted external drive into my Mac, it says ‘The disk you attached was not readable by this computer’. Recently, I upgraded the OS from Monterey to the latest Ventura (13.0), which is great and like the new interface very much. I have a MacBook Air 2020 with Apple M1 chip.
At the center of the piece is a large daisy that uses black and grey shading to create a realistic image of these lovely flowers. This larger black and grey piece incorporates some different design elements to create an interesting tattoo. All of these different factors serve as a testament to thoughtfulness and skill of the tattoo artist. The use of the wrist’s natural lines allows the design to progress: each of the flowers develops from a closed bud all the way to a mature daisy in full bloom. The expert shading and use of contrast brings these flowers to life, while the fine line work provides definition to the piece. This is a lovely little black and grey tattoo that packs a lot of interesting aspects into a small package. The white highlights in the ribbon, crystals and parts of the flower help to make this tattoo pop while the placement on the forearm and arrangement of the different design elements help to create a balanced composition.Ĭrystals are an important theme in natural medicine and occult practices and this tattoo could represent the wearer’s appreciation for the mystical characteristics of the natural world. This is an interesting piece that uses black and grey shading to great effect in creating a realistic tattoo. These daisy tattoos are excellent examples of what a talented artist can do with a limited palette. When properly executed, this style can give a piece a timeless quality and create a sophistication that other designs lack. Make sure you get a bench mark before your booking so you don't end up disappointed.Black and grey work eschews the bright colors of other styles in favor of a simpler, classic look.

Not too difficult once you know you have to encrypt your VM then install the TPM 2.0 module. Okay, so is the virtual machine now compatible with Windows 11? MAKE VMWARE FUSION WINDOWS VM COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 11īoom! Mission accomplished. Close this tiny window and you’ll notice that the list of Removable Devices for this virtual machine is just a bit longer: I hope VMware Fusion redoes this to at least say “TPM 2.0 Installed.” to make it more clear what’s going on. What’s going on here? You’ve already installed the TPM 2.0 module when you checked it and clicked “Add.” so it’s asking if you want to remove it. Click on that icon and a window pops up that confusingly talks about what happens if you remove this device: I’ve highlighted the Trusted Platform Module. You’ll be presented with a list of possible devices you can add: Now that you’ve added encryption, click on that “ Add Device…” button on the top right of the main Settings window. The second step is easier if a bit confusing. INSTALL A TPM 2.0 MODULE IN A VMWARE FUSION VM I have a pretty big Windows 10 VM so it took maybe five minutes to complete? Something like that. Basically it’s an invisible password at that point, but it lets you encrypt your virtual machine.Įnter a password twice, then click “OK” to proceed. I checked the “ Remember Password” option and found that I never had to enter the password on restarts, re-launch of VMware Fusion, etc. You’ll then be prompted to set a system password: For our purposes, check the “ Enable Encryption” box. It’s actually easy to turn off encryption once you enable it, though I’m not sure if it’ll then disable the TPM 2.0 module once installed. We’ll need that in a minute or two.įor now, click on “ Encryption” to proceed… Then you can get to the Settings in VMware Fusion for this particular virtual machine, which will look like this:Īs highlighted, you’ll want to click on “ Encryption” along the bottom row, but before we do that, I want to bring your attention to one more thing: The “Add Device…” button on the top right. That’s done by going into your Windows machine and shutting it down (Start Menu > Power > Shut Down). You can test it for yourself, but the Trusted Platform Module can’t be installed on your virtual machine until you encrypt your VM. The wrinkle here is that you can’t just install the TPM 2.0 module on your virtual machine: You have to encrypt your virtual machine first… ENCRYPT VIRTUAL MACHINE IN VMWARE FUSIONįortunately, both the encryption and TPM install steps are easy if you know what order they need to happen. Run the compatibility checker on your Windows 10 virtual machine in VMware Fusion and you’ll undoubtedly get this result: Hopefully, Microsoft has re-enabled the PC Health Check app download too: As I write this, it no longer shows up at the indicated link, but it worked fine 48 hours ago. Start out by reading through my Check to See If Your PC is Windows 11 Compatible tutorial. But on a virtual machine? It’s a quick download and install, as it happens, and you can indeed make your Windows 10 virtual machine Windows 11 ready, as I’ll demonstrate. Not just that, but you need version 2.0 of the physical hardware chip on your computer, so it’s not an app you can install on your PC. Indeed, most of the Windows tutorials on this site in my PC Help area were produced with the help of my trusty VMware Fusion virtual Win10 system.Īs many have written about, the early versions of Microsoft Windows 11 require something called a Trusted Platform Module, or TPM. Whether you choose a dual boot scenario or just run Windows within a virtual machine through either Parallels or VMware Fusion, it’s surprisingly fast and compatible. Developers have long since realized that one of the great features of a modern Mac system is that it can also run Windows really well. A gusher of ultraviolet light from the dying star energized the gas, making it glow. "During this phase, the star shed its outer gaseous layers into space and began to collapse as fusion reactions began to die out. "It then ballooned in size, becoming a red giant," according to NASA. For billions of years, the star had been converting hydrogen to helium - but it started to run low on fuel. The spectacle began around 4,000 years ago, when the Nebula Ring's central star, which was more massive than our sun, expelled gases from its outer layers into space. "We are witnessing the final chapters of a star's life, a preview of the sun's distant future so to speak," Barlow said, adding, "JWST's observations have opened a new window into understanding these awe-inspiring cosmic events." One way to find Lyra is by looking for its bright star, Vega. If you want to try to spot the Ring Nebula on your own, you're in luck: Summer is the best time to view it, and August is perfect, according to NASA. "I would never have thought that one day, I would be part of the team that would use the most powerful space telescope ever built, to look at this object," Cami said. "I first saw the Ring Nebula as a kid through just a small telescope," said astrophysicist Jan Cami of Western University in Ontario and the JWST Ring Nebula Imaging Project in a statement about the new image. Discovered in 1779 by a French astronomer, it doesn't take a fancy instrument for an amateur astronomer to spot from their back yard. The Ring Nebula, also known as Messier 57, is more than 2,000 light years away, in the Lyra constellation. A new image has shown even more complexity within the famous nebula. The Ring Nebula is seen in a 2013 image captured by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. "Hubble showed that they were much more complicated than that, and with these latest images JWST is revealing yet more intricate detail in these objects." "Planetary nebulae were once thought of as very simple objects, roughly spherical and with a single star at their centre," said Roger Wesson, a research associate at Cardiff University who led the image analysis. And the closer astronomers look, the more complex planetary nebulae prove to be, with numerous clumps of gas and filaments radiating outward. That does more than produce eye-popping scenes in space it also lets astronomers study the chemical makeup and evolution behind the spectacle.ĭespite its name, a planetary nebula is actually the remains of a sun-like star. "Just like fireworks, different chemical elements in the nebula emit light of specific colors," as University College London states. The new image shows vibrant colors and new detail "The high-resolution images not only showcase the intricate details of the nebula's expanding shell but also reveal the inner region around the central white dwarf in exquisite clarity," said Mike Barlow, lead scientist of the JWST Ring Nebula Project. Webb also has a cryocooler for cooling the mid-infrared detectors of another instrument ( MIRI) to a very cold 7 K so they can work. The image was released by an international team of researchers, including experts from the U.K., France, Canada, the U.S. One instrument ( NIRSpec) has programmable microshutters, which enable observation up to 100 objects simultaneously. The telescope’s four instruments - cameras and spectrometers - have detectors that are able to record extremely faint signals. Webb’s biggest feature is a tennis court sized five-layer sunshield that attenuates heat from the Sun more than a million times. The mirrors are made of ultra-lightweight beryllium. These include a primary mirror made of 18 separate segments that unfold and adjust to shape after launch. Several innovative technologies have been developed for Webb. The main industrial partner is Northrop Grumman the Space Telescope Science Institute operates Webb after launch. The NASA Goddard Space Flight Center managed the development effort. Webb is an international collaboration between NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). 2002 after a former NASA administrator, James Webb. Webb was formerly known as the "Next Generation Space Telescope" (NGST) it was renamed in Sept. It studies every phase in the history of our Universe, ranging from the first luminous glows after the Big Bang, to the formation of solar systems capable of supporting life on planets like Earth, to the evolution of our own Solar System. Webb is the premier observatory of the next decade, serving thousands of astronomers worldwide. Webb successfully launched from ESA's spaceport in French Guiana on Decem07:20am EST ( 12:20 GMT/UTC). Why Estimated Quarterly Taxes Matterįailure to pay estimated quarterly taxes can result in penalties and interest on the unpaid amount. Corporations may have to make estimated tax payments if they expect to owe $500 or more in taxes. This is the case even if you expect a lower income in the current year. Additionally, if you had a tax liability in the previous year, the IRS may require you to pay estimated taxes. This includes freelancers, independent contractors, sole proprietors, partners in partnerships, and S corporation shareholders. Remember, this is after subtracting their withholding and refundable credits. Those who anticipate owing $1,000 or more in taxes are generally required to pay estimated quarterly taxes. Who Needs to Pay Estimated Quarterly Taxes? Unlike traditional employees who have taxes withheld from their paychecks, freelancers, self-employed individuals, and certain business owners are responsible for estimating their tax liability and making quarterly payments. What Are Estimated Quarterly Taxes?Įstimated quarterly taxes are periodic tax payments that individuals and businesses make to the IRS throughout the year. In this article, we will explore what estimated quarterly taxes are, why they matter, and how individuals can navigate this aspect of tax compliance. For those with income not subject to withholding, estimated quarterly taxes become a crucial obligation. One key aspect of financial responsibility is handling taxes. For freelancers, self-employed individuals, and small business owners, managing finances is an integral part of their professional journey. This is because of the placement of the subject in the statements. The active voice is far stronger than the passive voice in these examples. There is a noticeable difference between how these sentences are constructed. Below are three examples of passive voice: This means that instead of actively 'doing' the verb, the subject is instead passive. This is very different to the active voice as here the subject is acted on by the verb. The opposite of the active voice is the passive voice. Grammatical voice doesn't only include the active voice. The early bird catches the worm Difference between active voice vs passive voice This is a helpful way to spot the active voice within a text.įig 1. The active voice tends to follow a linguistic pattern that is referred to as subject-verb-object, this is sometimes shortened to SVO. This means that the subject will come first in the sentence, followed by the verb and finally the object. The active voice occurs in sentences where the subject acts. Active verbs are opposite to passive verbs, which are past participles that follow the words was/were. These are verbs in the past, present, or future tense that follow a subject. The mouse (the subject) ate (the verb) the cheese (the object).Īctive voice sentences also contain active verbs. The word order in an active voice sentence looks like this: subject + verb + object. We form the active voice through word order and the use of verbs. For example, in the sentence ' The man ate the burger' the subject (the man) is doing the action (eating). In active voice sentences, the subject is the 'doer' of the verb. The active voice is used to show that the subject of the sentence is active and is performing an action on an object. This explanation is all about the active voice. G rammatical voice r efers to the different grammar terms used to understand the relationship between the action done by the verb and the subjects, or objects, it affects.
